TIFF the whole year round

Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF) is a central regional, national and internationaI culture institution. Apart from making the festival event each January TIFF has activity the whole year.

• TIFF runs Norway's biggest film festival and is the main meeting place for the film industry in the Northern region. The attendance has grown from 5.000 to 60.000 admissions since the beginning in 1991.
  
  
• TIFF has a cutting edge artistic profile, with artistic quality as key element. This applies for the festival itself as well as TIFF's other activities.
  
  
• TIFF works for increased understanding and knowledge of film as an art form, and to enhance film as an important cultural factor.
  
  
• TIFF's events have a annual total of over 100.000 admissions.
  
  
• TIFF runs Verdensteatret Cinema and Cinematheque, an important arena for culture and debate in Tromsø.
  
  
• TIFF organizes Tromsø Silent Film Days at Verdensteatret every April.
  
  
• TIFF organizes the children's film festival TIFF Junior in the fall, and screens films for school children the year through at Verdensteatret in collaboration with Den Kulturelle Skolesekken.
  
  
• TIFF collaborates with the film community in Arctic, and plays an important part in the Barents Film Industry.
