Our Silent Film Days take place in April every year, but was naturally cancelled last year due to the ongoing pandemic and lockdown around the globe. Now there is finally light at the end of the tunell, so we are extra excited about this year's edition.

Silent Film Days is put on by TIFF at Verdensteatret Cinematheque, our own cinema which is more than one hundred years old and was built in the silent film era. This tradition is kept very much alive through the festival, where we screen classic silent films, set to original modern music performed live in the cinema.

Seven concerts take place from Wednesday April 21 through Saturday April 24, including a spectacular opening show with BRUDEFERDEN I HARDANGER and a long awaited premiere as the closing show this year will be KORONA, a film and live performance by the band Iran Mayen, which was originally scheduled to screen at this year's TIFF back in January. The entire festival program, with more info about the films, musicians and tickets can be found at Verdensteatret's website.

Welcome to Silent Film Days in Tromsø!
