Among the films in the program is SENTIMENTAL VALUE by Joachim Trier, which receives nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. This is a historically high number of nominations in a Norwegian context and places the film among the most nominated titles of this year’s Oscar race, across all categories. Congratulations!

The TIFF programme also includes THE UGLY STEPSISTER, a Norwegian-produced film nominated for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, done by Thomas Foldberg and Anne Cathrine Sauerberg. The film is directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, a filmmaker TIFF has followed closely and proudly supported, and the nomination marks a clear international breakthrough.

In addition, the festival presents several Oscar-nominated international films, including THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB, SIRÂT, IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, THE SECRET AGENT and HAMNET.
