During the festival, the film was seen by almost 3000 people to great response and standing ovations from the audience. Director Ole Giæver talks warmly about the meeting with the audience and the city.
— We are very happy to have received the audience award at TIFF. All week we have felt the warmth of the audience. It has been an overwhelming experience that so many people have stopped us on the street to say that they have been moved and touched by the film, says Giæver.
— The film has been well received by audiences in Tromsø. From the people I have spoken to, many of them had this as their favorite. The film touches and tells of an important era in Norway and Sápmi. At the same time, it is a close portrait of Sámi identity and the personal development of the main character Ester, says Festival and Program Director Lisa Hoen
The lead actress Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen and the director Giæver have both spent the entire festival week in Tromsø and had many meetings with the city's audience.
— Ella and I are leaving happy and warm-hearted. Thank you to Tromsø and TIFF audience for the way you have received the film, says Giæver.
Did you miss the Norwegian premiere at TIFF, you can look forward to the film arriving at Norwegian cinemas on February 3rd.
