TIFF 2022 is still happening!

We are taking all steps necessary to make sure the film festival is arranged in line with regulations issued by the Norwegian Government on December 13th.

There will likely be more space between people in line in January, but there will for sure be screenings at Verdensteatret Photo: Mats Gangvik

Today those regulations mean all our indoor screenings will have a max capacity of 50 people in the audience, and the outdoor cinema will have a capacity of 100 people. Regulations are currently valid until January 13th and TIFF is prepared for them to be both prolonged and altered before our film festival starts on January 17th. With a great desire to show all the amazing films we have in our program, we are planning with multiple  scenarios in mind.

In addition to the screenings in Tromsø we will also have TIFF Digital, a selections of festival films streamed online in Norway. This way we hope to include as many as possible this upcoming festival, also those who cannot attend in person.

There will unfortunately be limitations to our industry program, but some events will remain. More detailed information will follow in the coming days. As for our social events such as parties and meet-ups, these will also be very limited. Excellent film is the essence of TIFF, and we will make sure that you’ll get to watch it on the big screen, together again. This is more important than ever before.

We encourage our audience to keep an eye out for more information and updates both on our web page tiff.no and our social media accounts. Our entire film program wil be announced this Friday.
