This year's TIFF band

For the third time, TIFF has chosen to showcase music from talented artists in the region. This year, it means the excellent duo nonne, who with their mesmerizing riffs and danceable rhythms, will create this year’s festival atmosphere.

Simple, genuine, and honest

The Tromsø duo consisting of Gustav Eidsvik and Erlend Skotnes sets the soundtrack for this year's festival. Created from a desire to make something simple, genuine, and honest, nonne is known for its psychedelic rock. Using drum machines, synthesizers, and loud guitars. In 2023, they released their debut album "Omf!"

Previous TIFF Collaboration

In collaboration with the Insomnia festival's talent program Cloud Exit and TIFF, nonne debuted self-composed music to the silentfilm "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" to a full house during this year's Silent Film Days. 

This is also not the first time we find nonne in connection with TIFF. The duo played at last year's Closing Party, and this year they will front the party in a new guise as this year's TIFF Artists.

First mission is the Kick-off on November 16

The Kick-off for TIFF 2024 takes place at Verdensteatret – Cinematek in Tromsø on Thursday, November 16th, at 19:00. Here, the duo will both open and close the evening. The festival welcomes both new and old audiences for a taste of the program, music, and exciting guests!
