As the only Sámi film institute, we provide Sámi filmmakers with competence and financial support in developing, producing, and distributing Sámi films in the Sámi language.
Through our own stories and films we fight for the survival of Sámi culture, values and languages. By telling our stories we create our future. Our work is based on respect and equality for all people and a close connection to nature. In the Sámi language we have a word VERDDE, which means partner/friend. We value all our verddet and collaborations locally and globally. As Sámi people living in four countries borderless thinking is in our backbones.
ÁRRAN 360° - A fusion of Indigenous storytelling and innovative technology
ÁRRAN 360° is a first-of-its-kind film project that features six original 360-degree films created by six leading Sámi filmmakers from across Sápmi. The films are presented in a purpose-built giant lávvu and equipped with a 360-degree screen designed to showcase these special films.
In 2023 ÁRRAN 360° is a part of the program for the Tromsø International Film Festival.
