Home to Sápmi: Repatriation

Finally, the Sámi people are to reclaim their heritage. Debates about cultural diversity, truth, and reconciliation are sparking much-needed change. But how can the profound wounds of being deprived of belongings, cultural and spiritual symbols, and even the remains of their ancestors heal?

This question is asked in the powerful and personal documentary Mácchan – Homecoming by Suvi West and Anssi Kömi and serves as a starting point for this talk.
