The Slumber Party Massacre

Watch trailer

The Slumber Party Massacre follows a group of teenage girls at a slumber party, with an uninvited killer and his deadly power drill. This classic slasher is as funny as it is chilling, combined with a witty feminist twist to the genre.

A group of teenage girls decide to have a slumber party. What begins as a joyous gathering with music, pizza, and talking about boys, quickly takes a dark turn. A killer, dressed in double denim and wielding a giant power drill, shows up to put an end to the fun.

The Slumber Party Massacre is a cult horror film that has earned a place in the genre's history in recent years. Written by LGBT activist and author Rita Mae Brown, the film stands out by blending classic slasher tropes with a feminist twist. It explores themes of friendship and solidarity while satirizing the objectification of women prevalent in the genre at the time. The film is not without its gruesome moments and bloody scenes, but it also contains a significant dose of humor and self-parody, creating a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from other slashers of the era. Notably, the film's music is performed on a Casio keyboard, adding to its unmistakable 80s vibe.
