When Evil Lurks follows the brothers Pedro and Jimmy as they confront an evil force. This marks the beginning of a nightmarish battle for survival and a desperate attempt to escape an unstoppable demon.
Two brothers hear gunshots on their property. They investigate the matter and find a corpse — a man who has been split in two. This is the start of a series of events that leads us straight into the darkest, nastiest, and most grotesque offerings at this year's festival - this is definitely not a film for the faint of heart!
Demián Rugna's When Evil Lurks is an imaginative and innovative horror film. It is filled with fantastic practical effects and a handful of genuinely brutal moments. This is an extraordinarily dark and shocking film. It features scenes that challenge and surprise us, and many moments will linger long after the credits roll.
Demián Rugna (b. 1979) is an Argentine film director, screenwriter, and editor of horror films. He is known for Terrified (2017) and The Last Gateway (2007).
