The Riot

Watch trailer

The mining town Sulis in Nordland was the Nordic equivalent of the Wild West, and the copper mines in the Arctic mountain wilderness were among the largest and most ruthless.

Eighteen-year-old Konrad, desperate for work, secures a job in the perilous Hanken mine. Working conditions are brutal for the laborers, and things worsen when the cynical Olof Wennström assumes control of the mining company. Tensions rise, leading to a rebellion, and socialist activist Helene Ugland urges the workers to fight. However, the capitalist Wennström has different plans. In the midst of the conflict, we find young Konrad.

The Riot is inspired by real events, depicting the escalation leading to the uprising that changed Norway. It is a grand drama directed by Nils Gaup, featuring rising stars Otto Fahlgren and Simon J. Berger, known from "Exit," in the lead roles. In other prominent roles, we find actors such as Stig Henrik Hoff, Alexandra Gjerpen, and Rune Temte.
