Project Wolf Hunting

Watch trailer

If you want blood, this is the one for you. A brutally violent and bloody action movie that feels like the love child of Con Air and Predator.

Korean criminals are rounded up in the Philippines and loaded onto a cargo ship to be sent back to South Korea. The criminals soon break free and assault the police and the crew, and soon after they have taken control of the ship. The action sequences are well-choreographed and exciting. Throat slashings, biting, dismemberments, and good old-fashioned beatings are some of what this film offers. And the gore is shown in all its glory. People don’t just bite someone, they rip out pieces of flesh and chew on the skin. Not to mention the fountains of blood that shoot out of the wounds.

Project Wolf Hunting is the brainchild of writer-director Kim Hong-Sun, whose previous genre movies include Traffickers (2012) and The Con Artists (2014). According to him, they used more than 2.5 tonnes of “blood” in the making of this movie. And it shows. “If this isn’t hell – I don’t know what is,” as one character describes it. And did we mention the bloodthirsty monster that's onboard the ship?
