Her aging mother is diagnosed with cancer and her cowardly boss has implicated her in a corruption scandal involving financial fraud. Life is tough for Silvia, yet still she takes up dating for the first time in years. This single mum is dealing with challenges and critical situations on all fronts. She is in constant litigation, not only in her professional life as an attorney. Despite her illness, Silvia’s mother, a retired lawyer, finds the strength to criticize every decision her daughter makes. Five-year-old son Antonio is the only bright spot.
Director Franco Lolli has cast his own mother in the role of the cantankerous mother here. For the role of Silvia, he has chosen his cousin, Carolina Sanin, a well-known author with no previous acting experience. Both choices have paid off in this spot-on, honest, empathetic portrait of a modern family.

His first feature, GENTE DE BIEN, was presented at the International Critics' Week in Cannes in 2014, before being selected in more than seventy international festivals.
