Based on over 500 hours of home video from a basement in Louisiana, this is the story of the band Hangface and the breakthrough that was always just around the corner.
In 2003, the promising Tromsø band Hangface got the opportunity of a lifetime: Legendary star producer Eddie Kramer wanted to produce their debut album! In Los Angeles! In the promised land! What they lacked in money and a record deal, they had in energy, optimism and dreams of becoming the next big thing. We get to know a charming gallery of more or less well-known Tromsø personalities. We meet them both in the present and through the band's own archive recordings. For some of them it was an interesting and intense time with both success, adversity and a lot of fun, while for others it was obviously a quite painful chapter in life with high expectations, stress and perceived failure.
Memoirs from a Dream is a very entertaining and emotional journey back in time: When Tromsø’s student house Driv was in the yellow house on the dock, and the Hollywood rock’n’roll dream was within reach – for those who believed strong enough.
