Two young miners, working more than 1000 meters underground, know how to take care of each other. Surrounded by dangers and darkness, they find solace in their love. However, with a desire for a new future, a conflict arises between them.
Viet and Nam is a romantic drama about two young coal miners in love. The pair work in dangerous, dark underground mines while dreaming of escaping to a better life, causing a rift when Nam plans to leave the country.
In the midst of this, they seek to find Nam's father's remains, a soldier lost in a war. Key themes include a longing for opportunities, the haunting effects of the past, and the struggle between personal desires and relationships. The narrative culminates in a quest to find Nam's father's remains as a symbolic journey through memories, nostalgia and grief together. The story attempts to combine both a depiction of love and the aftermath of war. Visually beautifully told through techniques that are sensitive, universal, and a timeless exploration of the senses.
