Samtaler om Nord: Obsessed with Diagnoses?
When filmmaker Ane-Martha Tamnes Hansgård was 15 years old, she received her first psychiatric diagnosis. She received over ten more in the next 15 years. At the age of 30, she distances herself from these labels, and in the film Diagnonsense, she questions whether the system is too quick to assign psychiatric diagnoses. And if so, could this "diagnosis craze" have a negative effect?
On the panel:
Ane-Martha Tamnes Hansgård, filmmaker
Linda Svorken, psychologist, Low Threshold Team, Tromsø municipality
Thor Eirik Eriksen, philosopher and researcher at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and the University Hospital of North Norway
The conversation is moderated by Christine K. Hansen.
The event will also be streamed on itromso.no.
Conversations about the North is a collaboration between TIFF, UiT, iTromsø, and Samfunnsløftet.
