Pia returns home to Stavanger after six months in England. Her plan is simple: to find Kristoffer, the boyfriend who was supposed to join her on the trip but let her down at the last moment. However, Pia quickly discovers that finding Kristoffer is anything but easy.
In her search for Kristoffer, Pia encounters a unique and humorous cast of characters, including the sleepless and self-critical Vegar, a frustrated rap artist lacking problems to rap about, a disillusioned British oil worker, a rock guitarist with shattered dreams, and a principled taxi driver. Amidst this chaos, none other than Santa Claus appears, bringing an unexpected and magical twist to the story.
Mongoland is a charming and original Norwegian comedy that explores friendship, love, and the small and large absurdities of life. Director Arild Østin Ommundsen and his team have crafted a film filled with warmth, energy, and humor, delivering a delightful mix of everyday realism and cozy holiday magic. Kristoffer Joner shines in the role of Vegar, with a memorable parody of Christopher Walken that has become legendary in Norwegian film history.
