The Climb

Watch trailer

It's all about the ups and downs of life in this relentless comedy about the friendship between Kyle and Mike. A friendship constantly put to the test by the main characters themselves.

The idea that relationships can be destructive doesn't only apply to romantic relationships. Mike and Kyle have been best friends since childhood, but they just don't go easy on each other. Mike is a real selfish person, the kind who can find himself sleeping with his best friend's girlfriend. Yet they remain together in good and bad days. With a structure reminiscent of Four Weddings and a Funeral, we meet the two men at weddings, bachelorette parties, funerals, Thanksgiving celebrations and joint holidays. With the special events as a framework, the two friends play out their frustrations and ambitions.
Filmed with well-composed long shots that contrast with the absurd situations that arise, The Climb combines elegance with a distinct sense of comic timing in the portrayal of the protagonists They keep ending up at odds with one another, and yet manage to maintain their friendship alive.

The Climb was originally planned to premiere at Tromsø International Film Festival in 2021, but due to the pandemic all screenings were cancelled. We are very pleased to finally present the film now.
