CRAZY HEART is about washed-up country star Bad Blake, who’s performing old hits at shady bars and bowling alleys. At 57, in front of an aging crowd and in a constant alcoholic state, his former glory is definitely faded. The most he could hope for in the efforts to restart his career is a cooperation with Tommy Sweet, a rich and famous country artist, who originally learned all his tricks from Bad Blake himself.
One night Bad runs into the young local journalist Jean Craddock, and becomes more smitten than usually. Jean is a single mother who has made her own mistakes in life, and hesitates in letting a man like Bad get too close.
CRAZY HEART is filled with original songs from Grammy winner and Oscar nominated producer T Bone Burnett (WALK THE LINE, O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU?), together with songwriter Stepher Bruton. Jeff Bridges won the Golden Globe for his performance in the film.
Scott Cooper is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. CRAZY HEART is his debut as a feature film director, and he has also written the script and produced the film.
